Release trauma, old relationship patterns and feel more alive with somatic movement.

Somatic movement is the secret ingredient in emotional healing.

Somatic movement therapy is one of the most powerful practices I know for re-wiring generational trauma, relationship patterns and early childhood attachment styles.

I have watched hundreds of women move through heartbreak, infidelity, burnout, parenting stress, birth trauma and childhood wounds, without saying a word.  I too used this practice to re-wire my own developmental trauma, changing the course of my life and my work forever.

Somatic movement helps talk therapy go deeper.

After years as a therapist, I noticed many things wouldn’t move in my clients. The same behaviour, relationship, addiction and self-esteem patterns would return even when significant progress was made.

Why?

Because memories and experiences get stuck inside us, making us stuck too. We get stuck in earlier versions of ourselves, in the emotional debris from childhood, in relationship histories that are deeply lodged, and in behaviours that have a way of staying hidden in talk therapy.

The body stores your experiences in a way the mind can’t reach. To completely change your life and relationship patterns, you must release old experiences from the body, and the way the body does everything is through movement.

We have to re-wire our lives from the inside out.

When we release stored experiences through somatic movement we change on every level:

No, it’s not the same as normal movement.

Somatic movement is not like regular exercise that focuses on fitness and remedial activities. It offers the body a process to move in unconventional ways that break down the walls to our own healing. It allows us to locate sensations, feelings and experiences inside the body that are ready to be released now. Exercise helps your mental and physical health. Somatic movement re-writes your history.

It gives you direct access to the freedom, joy and aliveness that lives behind the energy and experiences inside you that are stuck.

The ultimate result is love. Feeling love, experiencing love and becoming love itself.

Somatic movement has many benefits

How it works and why it’s so life changing…

01

It brings the body to present moment awareness

You get out of your head and into your body. Your body is always trying to communicate with you (even with your thoughts). Instead of going on a thought spiral we can go into the body, find what is stuck and release it. The freedom created in the body helps us make emotional choices from today, not from pain in the past.

02

Emotional and mental release

When we can’t process stress or emotions in real-time the body buries them to keep us safe from overwhelm. Releasing this energy helps us makes new choices and improves mood and emotional resiliency. We then let go of behaviours that don’t match our current desires.

03

It releases trauma patterns

Trauma consists of memories, experiences and bodily responses frozen in time inside the body. This can lead to feelings of numbness, inertia or even procrastination on meaningful things. Through somatic movement we release those frozen experiences, so they no longer cause the same patterns in our life.

04

It resets the nervous system

Many of us live in a state of fight, flight, overwhelm and burnout. Whether it is trauma, excess workloads, family responsibilities or lifestyle habits, the body is often chronically anxious, overwhelmed, or numb and tired. Regular practice allows the nervous system to find a new baseline and creates vital energy to meet each moment.

05

It creates vitality, aliveness and sensuality

It’s hard to deeply connect with others when we aren’t connected with our bodies. Somatic movement helps you feel goodness in your body, so you experience more joy, aliveness, love, vitality and safety. You can then give and receive love more freely and experience more sensuality inside yourself and your relationships.

What does somatic movement actually look like?

Each class has a special theme and powerful soundtrack. You may be lying down, moving on the floor slowly, or moving in your private space however your body wishes to move.

There are no steps to learn and you can’t get it wrong. Your body will simply follow the prompts and begin its process of unwinding, releasing and entering flow.

Most classes are 60 minutes.
